Songs and choices

I Googled “Show Me the Way to Go Home” this morning, and discovered our camp’s funny version is part of the original! Go figure…
I spent the evening at my “house church,” a small group from my church that meets to discuss the sermon topic, as well as for fellowship and mutual support. Sunday’s sermon was about Philippians 2:14-16, where we’re told to be “blameless and pure” so we can “hold out the word of life” and “shine like stars.”
“Blameless and pure” … this fits with the spiritual themes the Lord and I have been working on this spring and summer: total forgiveness, God’s sovereignty, and making right choices in my heart. So I’m thinking about choices, and I start singing …
“Today I choose to give my yes to You”–Brian Doerksen
“You give and take away … my heart will choose to say, ‘Lord, blessed be Your name!’”–Phillips, Craig, and Dean
I must choose to forgive, to love, to trust …
