A delightful day
Jun 13th, 2010 by Elsi
In fact, this day was just about perfect. A lazy morning, during which I did some writing, and then a Christ-filled church service (good singing, good teaching, nice people) at the Indian Head Community Bible Church (Saskatchewan). After the service Merrylin came out to the RV to meet my beasties and look at my books. We parted friends—isn’t the Lord good?!
A slow, lazy driving day, which included the world’s largest paperclip: 5 feet tall, 3 feet wide, and 3,000 pounds of solid steel (in Kipling). Drove by Moose Mountain Provincial Park but didn’t see a campground, so ended up at a little campground in Redvers, with a Mountie statue in front. And a Christian couple visiting, who stopped to chat with me! Isn’t the Lord good?!
So I sat down and did a little ditty (think “My Favorite Things” from Sound of Music):
Sallie a-waggin’, and Dolphin a-snoozin’,
Sermon that tells me God’s love I’m not losin’,
Praise songs with harmonies everyone sings—
These are a few of my favorite things!
God sending Christians to pray for my travels,
Slow, lazy drives so my days don’t unravel,
Knowing whatever’s ahead, God will bring—
These are a few of my favorite things!
When the mud’s thick,
When my hip aches,
When I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad!
Especially when I remember that God loves me!
Glad you stopped by our little town of Redvers, it was nice meeting you at the log cabin, hope you have a great stay, and know we are praying for your travels along the way!
That, my friend, is what they call an indomitable spirit!
Sing! Sing! Sing!
